Mormon man's rap album hits No. 1 spot on iTunes chart - Deseret news

"i am not a Rapper" holds the No. 1 spot on the iTunes chart for hip-hop/rap.

James Curran, a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, launched a protracted play, "I'm not a Rapper," on April 17 the use of his artist identify, "James the Mormon." On Thursday, his six-song EP reached the No. 1 spot on the iTunes hip-hop/rap desirable albums chart and the No. 7 spot on the chart for prime albums standard.

in line with a video on Curran's fb page, half the proceeds from EP income will be donated to the LDS Church's missionary fund.

"I want you to know that i do know none of this could have been possible, one, without Heavenly Father, and, two, with out your aid. ... I'm just actually grateful for every little thing that's happening and for all of the guide you've got given me," Curran mentioned in the video.

On Monday, Curran launched a music video for one of the crucial tracks on the album, "Motivation." The video points cameos from BYU head football educate Kalani Sitake and LDS blogger Al Fox Carraway.
